Excellent support and advice from Ben in the footwear department …
Excellent support and advice from Ben in footwear department. He assisted me in making a good choice of boot that fits well AND has shown me an alternative way of lacing the boots which helps with a specific problem that I have. He was very pleasant and extremely helpful

Such bad customer services
Such bad customer services. Ordered online to be sent the wrong item, then told to return at my own cost. Refund finally given minus the additional postage cost! I’ll be referring to trading standards.

I ordered a coat from Out Door Clothing, a company owned by Gaynor Sports. It arrived within 24 hours. It wasn’t suitable. I returned it and within 24 hours of them receiving it, they had refunded me. I will definitely use them again. You pay for the postage costs - for me, about £13 in total - but it was worth it. They were selling the coat for £50 cheaper than the nearest competitor.

Wonderful customer service
I bought a North Face jacket this summer, which was hardly worn until November, when I contacted customer service about returning it as I thought the zip had broken. They were very responsive and efficient and immediately offered a no quibble refund. But it turned out that the zip wasn't broken at all. Something had got stuck in it and they were able to remove it with a paper clip. Then then returned the jacket to me in a day at no cost. They were so kind and patient. I will definitely shop there again! You don't often come across good old fashioned customer service like this.

Purchased a pair of £200 Alberg boots…
Purchased a pair of £200 Alberg boots for someone as a gift. They arrived within a Salomon box… Emailed to be told this was normal practice and I should have referred to the terms and conditions where it is clearly stated (in small print) that this may happen. Have asked for a return to be arranged and now been ignored. Since 2005 I have spent £000’s with this company. Never again. AVOID.

Seriously the best customer service I…
Seriously the best customer service I have ever experienced. Purchased a pair of North Face boots in December, quickly dispatched, after minimal use the mesh on the boots started splitting. In June of this year I Contacted Customer services as i expected the boots to last a lot longer than 6 months and was told to return them at my own expense, I sent some pictures of the boots to back my claim and was contacted again, a courier was arranged to pick up the boots at a time to suit myself this was arranged and paid by Gaynor Sports and communication time was minimal. Although I would of been happy with the same boots again or maybe an alternative I was given a full refund, a big thankyou to all at customer services can not thank you enough for your A1 service.

Not our problem…
Purchased a pair of Keen Targhee 3 two weeks ago and after 2 walks the sole is beginning to delaminate.
Gaynors are willing to refund if I send them back at my own cost.
Bit of a rum deal this. I purchase in good faith but if there's a fault it's nothing to do with us, and I have pay the return postage.
They also refused to send out a replacement pair, telling me to repurchase on the web.
They may sell some good gear but their after sales are pathetic.

An excellent example of how to provide poor customer service
I was in the Ambleside store today and had the worst shopping experience.

I entered the store 10 minutes before closing and was politely told that the shop was closing at half past, this would have been sufficient notice, the following 6 instances where I was given an aggressive countdown with a man raising his hand and showing three fingers well within 2 metres of me, telling me that’s all the time I had left. I told him that the first four times were sufficient, he followed up by saying ‘well let’s make it 5’.

I was about to make a purchase for about £300 worth of goods, but after being herded into the exit by 5-10 staff members as though I we were cattle I decided against it.

I try to shop local to help out, but I’ll never be using your store again after being a regular customer in this store for some time. I will be returning on line in the future or to local competitors where I can.

The man leading the show and guiding the upset customers to the exit displayed the worst customer service I’ve seen. I’m not a child, I’m more than capable of telling the time and finding my way to a store exit.

I handed my goods to a shop assistant and put the rest down whilst in the queue, the way that the other customers were treated made me not want to spend my money with you.

Disgraceful.

Zero customer service.
Zero customer service.
Have not even bothered to reply to my numerous e mails sent over 4 weeks in regards to (another)North Face jacket constantly shredding down feathers and tearing the jacket surface as larger ones pass through.
No contact possible via telephone, do not answer and the lines just ring off.
E commerce at its very worst. It’s not the first time I’ve bought from you but definitely will be the last. If your still in business after lockdown I’ll be popping in next time I’m biking in the area and leaving you feedback face to face.
Now passed to visa company to attempt section 75 chargeback. Thank god there are consumer laws protecting buyers from shocking retailers such as Gaynors.
Purchase at your peril

worst customer service i have ever experienced. emailed them many times but didnt receive a single reply. the fur is falling off from the north face down jacket from inside. all body is covered with fur after wearing it. doesnt even deserve 1 star.

We have used Gaynors online a few times in the last few months. Every order has arrived ontime or earlier than estimated and we have been more than happy with our purchases. Highly recommended using them, just wish we could walk round the shop though

Excellent. Despite a lot of poor reviews I had a perfect experience - item dispatched on day of order, good comms, courier tracking, and unfortunately when I returned the item because it wasn’t a great fit, the refund was processed the day they received it.
